Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care for cats in our shelter - Feed, social, and play, and care for cats according to their specific needs - Administer medications or treatments as instructed by managers and veterinarians - Maintain a clean and safe environment for cats at all times - Monitor pets for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the manager or veterinarian - Follow specific instructions provided by manager regarding their pets' routines, diets, and preferences - Provide updates and communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' well-being - Coordinate cat care volunteers to maintain a workable schedule and provide proper training to those coming into the environment.
- Clean and sanitize kennels and habitat area to appropriate degree including laundering blankets, beds, etc.
and cleaning food dishes/toys.
- Maintain an accurate list of supplies and needs to report to management to keep in proper order and inventory.
Skills:
- Pet grooming:
Knowledge of basic grooming techniques such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming - Animal restraint:
Ability to safely restrain animals when necessary for grooming or veterinary procedures - Veterinary technician:
Familiarity with veterinary procedures and ability to assist veterinarians as needed - Kennel:
Knowledge of kennel operations and ability to maintain a clean and organized kennel environment - Customer service:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to potential adopters - Veterinary assistant:
Understanding of basic veterinary procedures and ability to assist veterinarians as needed - Pet care:
Comprehensive knowledge of pet care practices including feeding, exercise, and basic health care If you have a passion for animals and possess these skills, we would love to hear from you.
